The Tropical Rainforest Biome |
Tropical rainforests are one of the most diverse and interesting biomes that planet Earth has to offer; although they can be found in many regions, they only cover 6% of the Earth's surface. It is said that these rainforests is where half of the worlds plants and animals reside.
Tropical rainforests are generally found around the equator where the heat is the most consistent on the planet. They can be located in South and Central America, Africa and Australasia, there are eight different major rainforests in these regions. The largest rainforests are in Brazil - South America, Zaire - Africa and Indonesia - South East Asia. |
